this is why i don't pug anymore
- Tard in vent: The problem with this game is no one works hard anymore, they just expect things to happen for them. And the random group finder gives a sense of anonymity and people just say whatever they want without consequences. There's no community. And it's even worse in hardcore guilds. The only way to advance in a hardcore guild is to be a dick.
- Me in raid chat: no
- Me: stop talking
- Me: you are wrong
- Tard: I've been playing this game hardcore for seven years, I'm not wrong. And I'm not going to stop talking.
- Me: my guild is hardcore and none of them are dicks
- Tard: Then your guild isn't hardcore.
- Me: ok
- (note: the person saying this shit has killed six heroic bosses total the ENTIRE, so obviously he knows what he is talking about)
- Me: the best guild on my server is one of the top guilds in the world and they're all incredibly nice.
- Tard: I didn't say that it was a rule that you had to be a dick.
- Me: yes, you did. you are making sweeping generalizations about people you do not know.
- Tard: No, I didn't.
- Me: you literally JUST did.
Finally cracked 12,000 achievement points. I’m still a thousand behind the people in the top 10 in my guild, so I’m working to catch up. Gonna knock out as many of the profession achievements as I can, should be getting several BG achievements soon. Getting close to 50,000 HKs. I’m SUPER close on so many, I need to just bang it out.
If I could just suck it up and do Loremaster… thats probably about 700 or 800 points right there. BLERGH.

I’m so proud of my little Tumblraiders. When I first started this group, I had no idea how far we’d go. It’s been an amazing journey thusfar and I can’t wait to see what else we accomplish in the future. ^_^
I always forget about that area in Zul’Drak where you turn into a ghost as you pass through and it scares the shit out of me every single time. Makes for a great screen shot, though! :D
Every Thursday I feature a fantastic hunter transmogrification set. This week is our first submission from Vephriel, Blood Elf Hunter of the Nesingwary realm.

WHY DO I NOT HAVE THIS KIND OF LUCK ON ANY OF MY OTHER TOONS I MEAN SERIOUSLY
PvPers, a rant.
I’m seriously glad Children’s Week is over tomorrow. I’m so sick of listening to people whine about PvEr’s in “their” BGs trying to get the achievement.
It’s not our fault Blizzard decided to put PvP achievements in World Event metas.Besides, the main thing I really don’t get,
is if you’re suchhhhhhhhhh a good PvPer, why aren’t you doing an RBG or arenas instead?
I know there’s a cap, but if you’re sooooooo good, why are you whining about getting into a BG that queued for alone or with 1 or 2 other people (aka not a full pre-made) with mostly PvE geared people?
Besides doesn’t that happen most of the time anyways?i’m glad children’s week is over because i’m tired of people ignoring objectives to try and get children’s week achievements. i’m also tired of hearing people cry about pvp. it’s soo scary omg i hate pvp this is horrible blah blah blah. dude. all the people who LIKE pvp are avoiding it this week so you people can cry while you piddle around and get your achievements. i can’t wait to pvp next week. :P
PvPers? I wonder. If there was some idiotic achievement in the game that involved not getting hit by a shared-damage ability from a boss (like twilight onslaught), how many times would you get sick of people wiping the raid in LFR for their own selfish gain before you started bitching about them? You might even be one of them. Does this REALLY have anything to do with PvPers? Anyone would bitch about it if someone hopped in and started screwing up the content they normally take part in, and rightfully so. Can you HONESTLY blame them?
No PvPer is trying to claim BGs belong to them. The only thing they expect is that when people join, they participate. I don’t think it’s all that unfair of them to be irked when thousands of people who don’t give a damn about their team or the objectives start pouring in and prioritizing themselves to the point of bringing nothing to the game but crippling defeat for their team. Personally, I got pretty tired of people being a-ok with wasting my time and getting (and often failing to get) achievements at my expense. It may not be your fault the achievement exists, but you could all at least try to get it while also helping out your team.
As for the arena/rbg comment, stop. I don’t expect people to stop queuing for dungeons because their gear and skill is good enough to do heroic raids. People play for their own reasons. It’s a game. We’re here to have fun. A skilled PvPer doesn’t HAVE to join rbgs just because he’s good enough to. Again, it’s not asking that much to expect your teammates in a BG to participate.
As a sidenote, after getting fed up with the bullshit and hopping on my multiboxing team, I handed both wins AND flags to people who helped out. Many people politely asked for my help and I gave it to them happily. Many opened the game with “I’m just here for the flag, good luck you fucks lolol” And I made damn sure they never touched it. It’s all in the approach. Don’t be a selfish dick.

Salisburies make a really good point, though. Being good at something shouldn’t restrict you from “lower skill” content. I’ve effectively “beat the game” from a PvE standpoint, so does that mean I’m not allowed to run dungeons sometimes to help a friend out or do LFR anymore?
Just because someone has the ability to get 2400 in an arena doesn’t mean they’re not welcome in a random BG. I’m decent at PvP. I could get 2k easily on multiple classes, but I still like doing unrated BGs because I enjoy PvP. Most people who are good at PvP spend a decent amount of time doing unrated PvP because PvP in all formats is something they enjoy doing.
You know in that first scene in Harold and Kumar go to White Castle where Kumar is at the interview and the guy is shocked he doesn’t want to be a doctor cuz he has perfect MCATs and Kumar says “Just because I’m hung like a horse doesn’t mean I have to do porn”? It’s kind of like that. Just because you’re good at something doesn’t mean you HAVE to do the thing associated with a high skill level of that thing. Being good at PvP doesn’t mean you’re only allowed to do RBGs and arenas just like being good at PvE doesn’t mean you’re only allowed to do hardmode raid progression.
There are multiple options of ways to spend your time in the game for a reason.
I don’t understand why there’s this massive hatred of people who PvP by people who do not PvP. I’m not calling anyone out here, this is a trend I have noticed over several years of playing and seeing dozens and dozens and dozens of people complain about these sorts of things. Seems like that meme I see pop up every once in a while… if you’re better than me you’re a no-life douchebag loser, if you’re worse than me you’re a noob and should delete your toon.
Every year, there’s a flood of posts from people grumbling about how they hate PvP and hate people who PvP and how horrible it is. If you don’t want to PvP, then don’t. Don’t get the achievement. No one is forcing you to! If you think you shouldn’t HAVE to PvP to get an achievement, complain to Blizzard. The people who PvP sure as hell didn’t have anything to do with that being required for the meta. Stop blaming them for your misery.
And think about this: achievements are a good way to discover other aspects of the game you wouldn’t have otherwise tried. What about all the people who thought they didn’t like PvP, then did it for the achievement and realized “wow, this is fun!”
